Lead Counsel, Product & Privacy

Job Description

• Lead product and privacy legal initiatives for cutting-edge products • Identify and manage legal risks in product development • Develop the product and privacy legal functions with a focus on maturing operationalizing, and scaling legal support • Partner closely with technical and non-technical teams to future-proof strategic initiatives involving customer data, payments, and responsible AI • Be a subject matter expert on US and global privacy laws • Help ensure legal compliance with global privacy and data protection laws including CCPA, GDPR, and other regulations • Work hands-on with business and product teams to embed privacy into products and processes

Qualifications

• JD and a member of a state bar in good standing • 5+ years of legal experience focusing on emerging technologies, privacy and data protection, product counsel, and intellectual property advice • Expertise in US and global privacy regulations • Fluency in translating legal advice into actionable guidance for Product, Engineering, and Operations teams • Deep interest in artificial intelligence, generative AI, and machine learning technology and applications • Excellent organizational and communication skills
