Senior Security Operations Engineer

Job Description

• As a Security Operations Engineer, you will be a key player in our security team, responsible for protecting our company’s computer systems, networks, and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses, and cyber attacks • Your expertise will be crucial in identifying vulnerabilities, improving our security posture, and ensuring compliance with security standards and practices • Beyond the Skydio Security team you will work closely with IT, Cloud and Engineering teams to develop and implement advanced security protocols and measures, respond to security incidents, and provide guidance on security best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, particularly in security operations or a similar role • Expertise in Python • Strong understanding of operating systems, network protocols, architecture, and security vulnerabilities • Expertise in analyzing security logs and identifying incidents and suspicious activity • Coding experience relevant to automating security tasks, log aggregation and analysis, and device management • Experience managing security technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, malware analysis, and protection) • Familiarity with AWS systems (e.g., KMS, S3, Security Groups, and IAM) • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC2, FedRAMP) and experience with audits • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
