Associate Counsel

Job Description

• Draft, negotiate, and revise diverse contracts, including intellectual property license agreements, NDAs, social media influencer agreements, and SaaS agreements. Ensure that all contracts align with company policies and mitigate potential risks • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and tailor contracts accordingly • Advise on intellectual property issues and assist in managing our trademark portfolio with the guidance of outside counsel • Advise on marketing-related legal matters, ensuring compliance with FTC guidelines, social media endorsement regulations, and advertising laws. Review and approve marketing materials to ensure they meet legal standards • Consult on product safety and liability to mitigate risks and uphold our standards and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Support promotional activities by drafting and reviewing terms and conditions for sweepstakes, contests, and other promotional events. Ensure that promotional materials comply with relevant laws and regulations • Perform legal research and contribute broadly to our business needs • Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to address and resolve ongoing legal concerns

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing • 1+ years of experience in legal roles, with exposure to contract law, intellectual property, or corporate law • Preferred experience in copyright, trademark, product safety, social media, or marketing compliance • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various business teams • Critical thinker with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
