Software Engineer, Human Feedback Interface

Job Description

• The Research Tools team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer for our Human Feedback Interface, a system designed to collect data to refine and improve our models. We’re looking for a technical leader to work closely with researchers, mentor engineers, and provide technical leadership for this critical system at the intersection of model improvement and product development.

Qualifications

• Have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, preferably building APIs and/or responsible user interfaces for web • Expert proficiency in frontend technologies such as React, HTML/CSS • Have strong coding skills and experience with service-oriented architectures • Take a product-focused approach and care about building solutions that are robust, scalable, and easy to use • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including AI Researchers • Enjoy working with a fast-paced team tackling cutting-edge problems in AI safety and conversational AI • Enjoy pair programming (we love to pair!) • Have worked with NLP and ML models before and understand their capabilities and limitations • Have experience with REST APIs • Have experience with react and frontend frameworks • Have experience with containerization and DevOps • Have experience with QA and testing automation • Have experience with privacy and security best practices
