Machine Learning Engineer (MLE)

Job Description

• As a leader on our technical team, you will own the productionization of our core ML technology. You will work closely with the research team, fully understanding our innovation pipeline, and designing ML systems and platforms that deliver those innovations to our users and customers at high quality and scale. You will acquire and process datasets from our customers that have never been used to train AI before, and that will enable entirely new products and workflows. You are capable of weighing the pros and cons of different infrastructure and architecture choices to deliver delightful ML products, meeting the needs of a diverse group of creative enterprises. • You obsess over delivering high quality technical products, and are the final gatekeeper of high quality of our model outputs. This role, like all our technical roles, requires strong and frequent interfacing with our customers - at Yellow each team member spends time with and understands users needs and workflows. You think proactively about how to improve existing systems and industry practices, and what are the most efficient ways to package and deliver ML products. Our engineering team are “full-stack engineers”: you should be just as comfortable building a prototype for a new model in a Jupyter notebook as you are taking that prototype to production with a customer. You will be a high-impact member of our lean team and key to defining our technical direction, and the frontier of 3D AI.

Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science, data science, or related technical field • Minimum three years of software engineering experience in a production environment, including two years’ work experience in machine learning with a focus on model development and deployment • Excellent understanding of machine learning algorithms, processes, tools and platforms, in particular ML lifecycle/MLOps tools (e.g. pytorch lightning, mlflow, wandb) • Exceptional proficiency in Python and libraries such as PyTorch or Tensorflow • Experience in model training and deployment in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP involving tools such as Ray Serve, Kubernetes, and Docker • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities • Ability to communicate effectively to work remotely with teams • Proven track record of shipping high quality technical products
