Payroll Specialist

Job Description

• Acts as back-up to the Sr. Payroll Manager • Ensure that bi-weekly payroll is processed accurately in a timely manner • Process off-cycle payrolls as needed • Ensure all payroll recons balance prior to retrieving approval for the Payroll • Manage leave of absence and unpaid leave payroll processes for employees • Ensure proper benefit deductions are being deducted for employees • Work collaboratively with the People Ops team on all things related to payroll • Provide reports to stakeholders • Help with booking Accounting entries in the Sr. Payroll Manager’s absence • Spend 20% of time performing other duties or special projects in Accounting as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field • 5+ years experience in Payroll • Experience processing multi-state payroll (we’re currently in ~40 jurisdictions) • Strong Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.) • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and have a high level of customer service to employees • Experience with ADP WorkForceNow • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Start up experience preferred • Experience with shift differentials preferred
