Aviation Sustainment Engineering Lead

Job Description

• The Aviation Sustainment Engineering Lead is the connective tissue between Global Flight Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Global Supply Chain • Monitor field performance of Zipline-designed aircraft and ground equipment systems and communicate performance to Engineering, Field Support, Manufacturing and Quality teams • Identify trending issues and prioritize them for containment, corrective and preventive actions based on severity, frequency and cost of each failure mode • Lead containment actions for off-nominal conditions and quality escapes • Post-containment or in conjunction with containment activities, track and drive resolution of corrective action undertaken by cross-functional teams • Conduct ongoing assessments of aircraft and ground equipment (reliability and cost to operate) and complete improvement projects: Validate 'as observed' lifetimes for major components and integrated assemblies; identify where reliability improvements are required to decrease the operational cost of aircraft and ground systems • Scale the Team: Design and staff the Aviation Sustainment organization to effectively support operations in current and projected markets • Evolve Zipline's maintenance philosophy to allow for in-field rework of high cost / low reliability components

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-7 years experience in civil or military aviation program management/new program introduction activities • A broad technical background with the ability to work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Material Planning and Logistics teams • Proficient with analysis of large data sets: able to extract actionable trends and craft action plans from inputs from a global network of operations sites • Proficient in advanced MS Excel features: Queries, Power Pivots • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable communicating with Senior and Executive Management
