Project Manager, Business Development
Job Location: Manhattan, New York
Salary: $70,000 - $72,000 a year
Job Description
• Shape the future of NYC's business landscape with us! • Advise and assist mid-large size businesses/clients expanding or relocating to NYC, bolstering the city's business ecosystem and creating opportunities for New Yorkers • Work closely with the Director of Business Development to attract and retain businesses aligned with EDC’s priorities, such as tech, life sciences, and sustainable industries • Thrive on building relationships with diverse stakeholders and stay abreast of emerging sectors like AI, fintech, and climate-tech • Collaborate with internal teams, city agencies, and private-sector partners to craft compelling proposals and seize strategic opportunities • Join in building a thriving, innovative city together
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, Master’s is a plus • 2+ years of relevant experience, in a demanding analytical, strategic or entrepreneurial environment; project management, business development, international trade and/or economic development • Experience managing complex projects and driving business growth is a plus • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships with CRM tools (e.g., MS Dynamics, Salesforce) is a plus • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, including conveying complex details to senior leaders • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations • Project management experience; including designing, launching, and managing projects against timelines • Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously • Proven competency in use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Demonstrated interest, knowledge or experience in key industries, such as tech, life sciences, and sustainable industries, and familiarity with emerging sectors like AI, fintech, and climate-tech • Ability to travel within five boroughs of New York City, and attend evening and occasional weekend meetings as needed • New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire
