Senior Director, Vendor Outsourcing

Job Description

• Pliant is seeking a Sr. Director, Vendor Outsourcing with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a matrix environment to lead vendor outsourcing activities for the Clinical Development Organization (CDO).\n• The role requires 3 days/week at Pliant (South San Francisco).\n• Responsibilities include setting the vision for and developing standards, leading the vendor selection lifecycle, negotiating vendor agreements, developing strategic partnerships, supporting budget forecasting activities, partnering with stakeholders, identifying and implementing new processes, and leading a team of Business Operations professionals.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant clinical development experience preferred with a B.A./B.S. degree; or \n• 12+ years of relevant clinical development experience preferred with an advanced degree.\n• 5+ years of experience directly negotiating full scope CRO agreements at task and resource by region level and/or building CRO resourcing models.\n• 5+ years of functional management experience preferred.\n• 5+ years people management experience preferred.\n• 2+ years of experience with site budget development utilizing fair-market value standards preferred.\n• Ability to utilize complex Microsoft Excel formulas and functions – e.g. VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH and pivots.\n• Experience with writing macros or other programming languages a plus.
