Editor, Taxes | Bankrate

Job Description

• Identify, pitch, assign and edit tax articles that rank highly on search and resonate with our consumer audience\n• Pitch creative ideas on how Bankrate can stand out in the tax space\n• Check story drafts for errors, typos and linking opportunities\n• Do keyword research to identify content gaps and opportunities to refresh and optimize existing content\n• Monitor key trends and news in the tax space to drive decisions on emerging content opportunities\n• Work with freelance writers for content creation, and identify new ones as needed\n• Edit content for AP style, brand voice and tone\n• Build industry connections with top tax experts\n• Create, produce and publish stories in our content management system (WordPress)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of writing/editing personal finance content with experience covering taxes\n• Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, with the ability to effectively communicate edits to writers\n• Enthusiasm for leveraging technology to find efficiencies in the content workflow\n• Experience meeting tight deadlines while working independently to manage multiple projects\n• Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities while keeping up with a fast-paced environment\n• Ability to edit content based on SEO concepts and best practices\n• Ability to grasp the voice, style and tone of the Bankrate brand\n• Demonstrated ability to work closely with a team and individually as needed\n• Understanding of AP style
