Hardware Product Manager
Job Location: Bay Area, California
Salary: $130,000 - $180,000 a year
Job Description
• Manage and commercialize residential energy products • Responsible for go-to-market of Lunar System, solar and battery energy storage system, and expanding to other energy hardware products • Drive implementation of technical documentation for product performance, safety, installation, features, compliance, and beyond • Gather and synthesize industry trends, market intelligence, and competitor benchmarking data • Define and track performance criteria for new product pilots • Provide sales engineering support throughout pre-sales, design and deployment of hardware • Drive hardware product kitting to optimize customer experience • Own and define customer bill-of-materials to feed into operations and engineering
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with sales engineering, application engineering, or product management in the energy sector • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field • Experience developing or commercializing energy products, including solar, energy storage, EV charging, or other power equipment products • Ability to quickly grasp product capabilities and constraints, and effectively communicate to non-technical audiences • Experience working with hardware OEMs on vendor qualification and co-development • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large qualitative and quantitative information from market research, sales feedback, and customer conversations into actionable product insights • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute parallel projects in a fast-paced environment • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and interconnection process of DERs • Deep passion for home electrification, sustainable energy, and user-centric designs • Able to work onsite most working days
