Commercial Business Development Director

Job Description
• Responsible for driving the growth of the Commercial Insurance business • Expand market presence, build strategic partnerships, and capitalize on opportunities within the commercial insurance sector • Lead negotiations with potential partners and clients to secure favorable terms and agreements • Track and manage the business development pipeline and provide regular updates to senior leadership • Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and competitive trends to proactively adjust strategies and offerings • Engage with partners to ensure alignment on strategic priorities, risk management, growth opportunities, and operational efficiencies
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree is a plus • Minimum 7 years of experience in business development within the insurance industry, with a focus on commercial insurance • Established network of contacts within the insurance industry, including brokers, agents, carriers, and industry associations • Proven track record of exceeding targets and driving business growth • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products (particularly BOP & Property), market dynamics, and regulatory landscape • A polished professional with exceptional executive presence, skilled in representing our organization at the highest levels and adept at influencing outcomes and fostering strategic relationships • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills • Strategic mindset with the ability to manage complex situations and develop innovative solutions • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team • Ability to lead through change and promote a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement
