Staff Accountant
Job Location: San Francisco, California
Salary: $58,800 - $71,000 a year
Job Description
• Record journal entries and perform account reconciliations for specific business domains including verifying data accuracy, identifying any discrepancies, and proposing resolutions as necessary • Provide assistance and support during the month-end close process including preparing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations • Lead daily financial operations, including AR, AP, cash management, lending, and general accounting tasks • Prepare financial statements, analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes • Create and implement accounting policies and procedures and update as needed to be in compliance with GAAP and enhance internal controls • Assist in managing the external audit, including preparation of documentation and ongoing support • Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement and solve problems • Drive process improvement and design of automation solutions to further streamline real-time financial data for decision making • Ad hoc projects as we scale
Qualifications
• BA/BS in Accounting • 1+ years relevant work experience in an accounting function; tech startup experience and/or public accounting required • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP • Excellent management skills and attention to detail • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction and tight deadlines • A flexible approach and ability to prioritize tasks to thrive in a startup environment • Keen sense for process improvement to streamline operations • Proficiency in Excel • Experience with SAGE, Paycom, bill.com, and Expensify a plus
