Job Location: Manhattan, New York
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 a year
Job Description
• The Data Steward is responsible for supporting the Analytical Business Units by organizing, maintaining, and analyzing information and data to improve the efficiency of data-related processes. • Work with various analytical teams to capture and input data into a centralized database. • The Data Steward is expected to follow established standard operation procedures for data processing and is encouraged to improve and automate the manual steps of processes. • Ability to synthesize information from various sources, including internal documents from the analysts’ work products, data feeds, external sources, research, and media platforms, etc. • Support the quality of the database by analyzing records, evaluating data sources, and implementing accurate updates. • Assist in new deal and entity creation processes. • Handle ad hoc data updates and projects as required. • Participate in multiple data management projects including data analysis, data profiling, and data quality. • Documenting rules around data collection, storage, and use. • Collaborate with external data vendors regarding data issues.
Qualifications
• A minimum of one (1) year of entry level data entry or data management experience. • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a highly demanding environment. • Some experience in financial markets, specifically fixed income, entity management, workflows process management will be helpful to be successful in this role. • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to produce accurate, timely, and complete work products. • Exceptional Customer service skills and ability to communicate persuasively and concisely with members of various seniority. • Knowledge of SQL and Excel. • Self-starter -- with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver action-oriented results. • Take pride in learning and want opportunities to learn throughout your day-to-day.
