Assistant General Counsel, Reinsurance Transactions

Job Description

• Provide legal and strategic advice for Global Atlantic’s insurance transactional business • Work directly with business teams in New York, Connecticut, and Bermuda • Negotiate complex transactions • Provide regulatory advice affecting Global Atlantic’s insurance business • Coordinate various functional areas to advise on business initiatives • Lead evaluation and presentation of novel matters and transactions • Build and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders and contacts within the legal & compliance community

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree (JD) and 6+ years of experience in the field of law • Experience with life/annuity reinsurance transactions • Experience with pension risk transfer transactions • Familiarity with the Model Holding Company Act a plus • Experience negotiating complex transactions • Superior negotiation and drafting skills • Ability to manage competing priorities • Superior communication skills • Desire to become subject matter expert • Superior judgment and ability to use independent judgment • Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team • Ability to process and filter complex information quickly • Ability to present complex matters to senior business leaders • Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability • Willingness to travel periodically to international locations
