Test Equipment Design Engineer

Job Description

• Design, fabricate and deploy equipment used in R&D testing of iron-air batteries • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions • Contribute to the design and development of test equipment • Oversee fabrication and prototyping of test equipment components • Ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines • Create comprehensive documentation • Provide on-the-ground technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of test equipment • Collaborate on custom system design/development in support of test stand improvements

Qualifications

• A BS degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent degree/experience • Proficiency in an mCAD package (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX) and familiarity with simulation tools • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes • Experience designing reliable, robust equipment used in medium- to high-volume manufacturing/production environments • Proficiency in fluid dynamics and thermodynamics • Knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition systems • Familiarity with an eCAD package (AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical) • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
