Payroll Manager
Job Location: Manhattan, New York
Salary: $90,000 - $125,000 a year
Job Description
• As the Payroll Manager, you will help the transition to a new payroll vendor (ADP), offering expert recommendations and overseeing the implementation process. Additionally, you will lead and mentor the payroll team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all processes. Serving as the primary liaison for both internal employees and external vendors, this role demands a strong service-oriented mindset and a keen sense of urgency to address payroll matters promptly and effectively. • Oversee all aspects of payroll operation, processing payroll, ensure accuracy, compliance with legal requirements and timely distributed payments for US employees • Monitor and validate employees’ time and attendance records to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations • Monitor and validate employee’ expense reimbursement to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations • Reconcile payroll taxes related general ledgers • Collaborate with the Equity team to process equity related income/taxes through payroll and process data related to Employee Stock Purchase Plan • Perform ad hoc payroll related analysis of payroll to explain trends and differences • Help with global payroll analysis requirements • Manage US payroll related filings with tax authorities in relevant states • Perform audits of the payroll system data to ensure accuracy of pay information • Focal point to all payroll related matters and provide answers to employees’ questions and needs around payroll • Work with other Payroll Managers to prepare and provide global payroll analysis • Stays up to date with applicable US payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance with all federal, state/provincial, and local requirements
Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant US payroll professional experience in a global public company; fintech or payments experience a plus • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant degree • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working closely with various members of management and operational teams across the organization • Experience working through payroll software implementation • Multi-state payroll experience for USA • Experience working with ADP is a plus • Bookkeeping experience is a plus • Strong proficiency in MS Office especially Excel • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
