Principal Database Automation Engineer

Job Description

• The Principal Database Automation Engineer is responsible for all of DriveWealth’s database platforms, ensuring high levels of data availability and performance. This hands-on role is responsible for advancing and improving the backbone of DriveWealth through automation, monitoring, maintaining, and advancing our database systems. The ideal candidate is a database expert with knowledge of multiple databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, and Babelfish for Aurora PostgreSQL among other platforms. We seek someone who thrives on solving and scaling database challenges and thus has exceptional attention to detail and values simplicity over complexity - both in design and communication.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years’ experience in a principal DBA role with at least 15 years of overall IT experience. • Proven experience with automation and scripting technologies especially using Infrastructure-as-code (IAC) using Terraform. • Strong command of SSIS, SSRS, SQL, and SQL server tools and TSQL development. • Strong experience with AWS RDS platforms like Babelfish and Aurora. • Expert knowledge of database security, storage, partitioning, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling • Python/ PowerShell/ Unix shell scripting skills • Experience working with AWS cloud tech, storage, cloud security, and governance tools. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Impeccable attention to detail • Experience with a 24x7, highly-available architecture.
