Senior Accountant

Job Description

• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports • Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments and expenses • Accounting guidance and research, along with memo drafting and/or managing the process with a firm that helps • Drive the Audit process • Month close/consolidation/review • Maintains the general ledger • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts • Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax accounting experience • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field • Valid CPA license • Good working knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software • Experience preparing or reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations • General knowledge of GAAP guidelines and ability to enhance knowledge and apply to a variety of situations • Strong Excel skills required • Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations specific to tech startups is helpful
