Associate Director/Director, Program Management (Discovery Technology)

Job Description

• Calico seeks an Associate Director/Director of Program Management to closely collaborate with the Head of Discovery Technology and Head of Research • Lead a team of project and program managers involved in planning, tracking ongoing activities, and developing processes for forecasting, prioritization, and execution of research and technology programs • Facilitate Leadership Team meetings, resource forecasting, Corporate Goal management, and other leadership activities as needed • Responsible for creating collaborative partnerships and building and managing multiple teams including external collaborators • Act as alliance manager for external partnerships of various complexities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a life science discipline, MS or PhD preferred • 10-15 years of project management experience in biotech/pharma and/or academic research • 5-10 years of people management experience • Understanding of basic cellular and organismal physiology, broad understanding of experimental and computational aspects of high-dimensional biology • Proficiency with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices • Strong interpersonal skills, organization, planning skills, and ability to communicate complex information effectively • Detail-oriented mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must be willing to work onsite at least three days per week

Benefits

• Estimated base salary range $204,000 - $251,000 • Eligible for two annual cash bonuses
