Manager, Software Engineering

Job Description

• Lead a team of engineers to build and extend fundraising products, analytics platform, and visualization tools • Partner with senior management on core business initiatives • Drive User Experience software architecture evolution • Evaluate technical solutions contributing to the company's growth • Manage and coach engineers on best software development practices • Analyze, design, and develop clean, maintainable code within an established code base • Collaborate with experienced developers on new feature designs and re-architecture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience • 8+ years directly managing engineers from new graduates to leads • Direct responsibility for delivering features on defined roadmap • 10+ years professional software development with server-side, web-based technologies (full stack preferred) • Strong understanding of distributed software architecture with experience debugging distributed systems • Proficiency with Javascript Frameworks like React, Angular, server side backends in Node.js, PHP, and Linux • Familiarity with GraphQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, AWS • Ability to translate product requirements into technical solutions • Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies • Proficient in microservice architecture, schema design in relational or NoSQL databases • Strong quality sense and engineering skills with computer science fundamentals • Preferred: 10+ years software development experience with distributed teams, refactoring SPAs, PCI compliance, tech debt management with new product development
