Full Stack Software Engineer, City Storage Systems - Los Angeles

Job Description

• We are looking for full stack Software Engineers to join the Growth team for an exciting new product. You will balance moving quickly with building sustainability for the future — contributing across web front-ends and existing (or new) backend systems. You will help build elegant products on world-class technologies that bring our experience to eaters, restaurants, and other customers. As a Software Engineer at CSS, you will develop innovative new features and experiences on a platform with a large and growing user base. You will also move quickly and meaningfully by building just the right amount to prove a concept, release it into production, get some feedback, and then iterate until we get it right. You will leverage open-source and proprietary technologies and use languages and tools including TypeScript, React, and GraphQL, as well as Java and Go, Kubernetes, and CockroachDB. Your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, including: - Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineers on the team to conceptualize and build new features for our growing customer base. - Participate in and provide feedback during the UX and engineering design processes. - Produce high-quality code by leading or contributing to large cross-functional projects that impact and drive business success. - Actively own features and define their long-term health, keeping scalability at the forefront of technical designs. - Assist our skilled operations and business teams in triaging and resolving production issues. - Work with other engineers from various teams across verticals and review code. - Build reusable components and libraries for integration across products and scale. - Build in a dynamic environment leveraging Data-Driven Development, Agile Methodologies, and Continuous Improvement. - Learn the product and bring forth ideas on how to make it better for our users and customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry software engineering experience across both backend and web front-end, developing and shipping applications using language(s) such as JavaScript or TypeScript on the frontend, and Java, Go, or other similar languages on the backend. • Experience working with React or an equivalent modern UI framework. • Familiarity with the full life cycle of shipping applications, from design and implementation to testing and deployment. • Strong communicator who can explain complex topics to not only other engineers but also designers, product managers, and support. • Strong frontend fundamentals: integration testing, design patterns, client-side storage, responsiveness, etc. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience. • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and an appreciation for problems requiring breadth. • A love for good food.
