Manager, Quality Engineering

Job Description

• Manage a team of quality engineers • Develop and maintain a strong quality engineering culture • Ensure high-quality delivery of technical initiatives • Hands-on contribution in engineering teams • Drive initiatives for higher engineering efficiencies • Establish clear processes for quality engineering • Familiarity with testing tools, application stack, CI/CD pipeline • Active involvement in releases and environment management • Lead continuous improvement initiatives • Encourage innovation and improvements • Report issues and results • Evaluate and develop technical performance of individual contributors • Guide quality engineers through their career progression • Perform management duties • Raise risks to management • Work with engineering teams across the organization

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience • 4+ years of direct people management experience • Extensive prior work with cloud-based systems • Broad experience testing high-throughput backend systems • Deep understanding of observability concepts and tooling • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Test Automation experience • Databases experience • DevOps skills • Analytics knowledge • Monitoring capabilities • Cloud Infrastructure understanding • Scripting proficiency • Programming Languages expertise
