Principal Cloud Engineer, Platform

Job Description

• Deliver and manage the infrastructure that powers Gemini's growing services (consisting of compute, network, storage and developer productivity) • Deep experience in the development and operations of a Kubernetes-based, geo-scale, distributed services platform • Proficient in working with Relational, NoSQL, and In-memory databases like Postgres, AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, Redis, and Elasticache • Experience with infrastructure automation and orchestration tools, like Terraform, Ansible, Salt, etc • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development • Deep understanding of modern software development practices, like CI/CD, service instrumentation, and multi-site software deployment and operation • Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins/Concourse/AWS Code deploy/CircleCI etc • Experience with logging, monitoring, alerting systems such as Splunk/ELK, Telegraph/Prometheus, DataDog/New Relic, Sentry, and PagerDuty

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the field • Strong product and customer centric design approach • Cloud technologies and providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure • Containerization and Container orchestration with Kubernetes • Service discovery and service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd • Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code solutions like Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, etc • Proficient in scripting and/or Python, or Golang • Linux kernel tuning and Network host debugging skills • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills
