Principal Front End Engineer, React Native
Job Location: Remote
Job Description
• Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and decision-making at the project and department levels, influencing the direction of our software and technology stack. Define frontend technical strategy with a drive to improve products, infrastructure, processes, or organizations • Lead Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of our mobile applications using React Native. Define and document best practices which the team could implement and also monitor and track the implementation and deviation of these practices in day to day development • Code Quality: Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and maintaining high code quality. Perform independent code analysis and create a backlog of technical upgrades and clean up to make sure the front end platform adheres to best practices and industry standards • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, making key architectural decisions to ensure the success of our projects • Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness • Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, promoting best practices in React Native development • Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement user interface designs and enhance user experience. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in building front-end applications (web or mobile) • 3+ years of experience in React Native • Strong knowledge of and experience with modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS • Experience building responsive, component-based web apps with modern JavaScript front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) • Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g. Redux, Recoil) • Passion for building a delightful customer experience • Understanding of principles of design (UI/UX) • Proficiency writing unit and integration tests • Experience with GraphQL (a plus) • Experience with native mobile development like iOS/Android (a plus)
