Software Engineer, GGMT

Job Description

• Work within an existing product suite to both build new features, and iterate on existing ones, and multiply the impact of your teammates • You’ll work with other engineers to build and own products across a modern tech stack. Our current stack includes React, Relay Modern, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node, and PostgreSQL. We rely on AWS to host our infrastructure • You’ll assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues in existing applications, ensuring functionality and performance are optimized • You’ll contribute to project documentation and maintain technical documentation for reference and reporting purposes • You’ll make contributions to our engineering practices, identifying and evangelizing improvements to improve our team output • You’ll build software to help companies operate efficiently and achieve their goals

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience writing and maintaining production-level applications • You’ve worked with a modern programming language like JavaScript and Typescript, and are well versed in frameworks such as React, Relay and Next.js • You know how to make complex components with multiple use-cases, easy to compose and use across a scaling organization • You understand and promote the benefits of pragmatic testing from the component level to entire pages • You have worked on design systems or UI framework integration/maintenance, and understand how to build and maintain them, along with the necessary communication to ensure proper and healthy usage • You seek out the root cause when debugging software defects, and champion improvements that prevent future issues • You understand and champion accessibility requirements for modern web development and are passionate about helping every potential user • You’re a great communicator and collaborator • You take care to write code that your colleagues can also own, understand, and maintain • You’re clear and concise in explaining your thought process and in enumerating the tradeoffs made in your work • You can work well with designers and product managers to come up with optimal solutions • You enjoy taking an active role in the development process • You will take care in the details of the implementation • You love mentoring and supporting other software engineers who are newer to the industry • You have experience taking the lead in planning and executing the development roadmap for software projects
