Marketing Financial Analyst
Job Location: San Francisco, California
Salary: $82,620 - $114,800 a year
Job Description
• Partner with marketing teams to lead and reconcile monthly budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and allocation of funds • Collaborate with accounting to ensure proper expense accruals, maintaining accuracy in financial records and compliance with company policies • Develop models to forecast marketing spend trends, incorporating historical data, current initiatives, and market conditions to predict future financial outcomes • Regularly monitor and analyze marketing spend, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization • Work with marketing leadership to create various financial scenarios, assessing potential impacts of different spending strategies on overall performance • Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports and dashboards to provide marketing partners with clear insights into budget performance and expenditure trends • Ensure accurate reconciliation of marketing spend data across different systems and platforms, resolving discrepancies as needed • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and leadership, to support financial planning, budgeting, and reporting needs
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related field, preferably within a marketing or advertising environment • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, and financial software. Experience with Adaptive, Netsuite, SQL, and Looker is a bonus • You know how to separate expense accrual vs. payment and can coach others on how to do the same • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sophisticated financial data and provide actionable insights • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
