Manager, Technical Accounting and Special Projects
Job Location: San Francisco, California
Salary: $220,500 - $245,000 a year
Job Description
• This role will report to the Controller and play a key part in the development of a world-class Finance Team. • Prepare technical accounting whitepapers for non-standard or complex transactions including mergers and acquisitions, equity activities, and various financial reporting considerations • Manage both recurring and non-recurring tax compliance and filing requirements, and assist with tax planning activities • Assist with the oversight of relationships with key service providers including external auditors, tax advisors, state and local auditors • Help support the annual audit and tax related activities, including preparation of audit support for consolidated and international activities, and coordination with external international accountants related to foreign subsidiary compliance requirements • Provide research or training to business and accounting team members regarding complex accounting issues • Drive business process and system improvements, with a goal toward automation and efficiency, including the design and implementation of key systems, internal controls, global close efficiency, audit readiness, and management reporting • Assist with the preparation and implementation of accounting policies and “SOX-lite” flowcharts as well as maintaining and monitoring corporate accounting policies and procedures
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • CPA with a combination of 2+ years of public accounting and 5+ years of corporate accounting or finance experience at a pre-IPO or newly public software/SaaS company • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404, and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research • Self-starter with proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions • Must be able to think critically and recognize discrepancies through analysis • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive efficiency • Ability to prioritize and work proactively and independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment • Eager to get engaged on a variety of operational accounting activities and willing to directly take on administrative type projects • Team player with strong communication, customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills
