People Operations Partner

mid

Job Location: San Francisco, California

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 a year

Job Description

• This is a brand new role to join our growing team that will partner with Airwallex employees and managers across the US region. You will provide tactical and strategic expert guidance and data-driven insights to help people leaders achieve growth objectives and drive a high performance, engaged culture. This is an ideal role for someone who likes to build things from the ground up, take on key projects and likes to execute. By forming effective relationships with people across the business you will drive forward new initiatives, resolve blockers to success and advocate for improvements at both a local and global level. • The People Operations Partner supports overall HR functions and objectives. This includes recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, training and development, and compliance with relevant employment laws.

Qualifications

• Have at least 3+ years of experience as an HR professional in a fast-growing startup environment. You’ve been both an executor and a leader, and are excited to do both again. You have accumulated tremendous pattern recognition from your experience, but you also have vision and conviction on how you’d like to do things differently when designing the People Ops function from the ground up • Are a masterful, precise, and tactful communicator. You can sell the Airwallex vision, engage professionally with candidates across all levels and functions, and convey complex information eloquently • Act as an “owner”, and drive initiatives forward autonomously, looping in others as needed for input, delegation, or support with key decisions. You’re great at proactively giving visibility on your work’s status, progress, or blockers • Have extremely high EQ. You are great at reading the room, picking up the unsaid, and tailoring your approach as needed • Have a passion for culture and team building. You love bringing people together, and are excited to be a cultural leader in an early organization. People Operations is your craft and you pride yourself on having a high bar for talent • Care personally about the real humans behind the jobs, and are able to build strong and productive relationships with coworkers and candidates alike. Fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment is personal to you • Are a scrappy problem solver at heart who drives outcomes and avoids excuses • You hold yourself to an extremely high bar for execution, and hold others to that bar as well • Can balance many tasks at once and tackle them efficiently in an organized fashion. You are energized by the opportunity to bring order to the chaos of a fast-growing startup (emphasis on fast!). You don’t need others to implement the structure for you to be effective – you create your own clarity • Have mastery of HR systems (e.g. BambooHR, Sequoia, PrismHR) and recruiting platforms (e.g., Ashby), and a strong point of view of what tools to use at various times in our organizational life cycle • Are familiar with various state and federal compliance requirements when it comes to payroll, leaves of absence, and immigration. Maintaining transparency and equity is a sticking point with you and you proactively raise concerns and solutions in order to help the organization maintain compliance across all employee areas • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a bonus

Benefits

• Manage the onboarding/offboarding process • Collaborate with hiring managers for onboarding plans • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations • Address employee relations issues and conduct investigations when necessary • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters • Promote a positive workplace culture and support employee engagement • Support the performance process • Provide feedback and guidance on performance improvement • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, including the commuter benefits program and LOA • Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues • Identify training needs and coordinate training programs • Help facilitate training sessions on various HR-related topics, such as performance cycle training and engagement survey results • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations • Prepare and maintain HR records and documentation • Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures • Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization such as our Employee Handbook • Reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day employee management and understanding when to escalate issues • Work with our PEO on processing the US payroll twice a month (semi-monthly) • Work with our immigration law firm to process and manage all immigration cases and mobility cases for the US • Partner with the People Team across the globe to gain alignment on people philosophy and programs where achievable and localize programs as needed
