Senior Federal DevOps Engineer
Job Location: Remote
Salary: $128,000 - $176,000 a year
Job Description
• Implement highly scalable, reliable internal CI/CD processes for our federally regulated environment. • Drive continuous delivery of software, provide feedback on engineering architecture decisions, and focus on sustainable automation of repetitive operational tasks. If you have to do the same task more than twice, you find a way to automate it for the team. • Use your strong troubleshooting methodology to drive fedRAMP production incidents to resolution, and use the same investigative skills to run incident post-mortems. • Enhance documentation and processes related to Federal DevOps efforts. • Ensure that all aspects of our infrastructure meet and maintain FedRAMP compliance standards. • Stay abreast of the latest FedRAMP guidelines and integrate them into our operational practices.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in running SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering for SaaS products • 3+ years production experience with orchestration systems like Kubernetes, Nomad or Mesos (we are a Kubernetes shop). • Any experience with Rancher, Platform9 or other managed k8s providers is desired. • Familiarity with on-prem and air gapped deployments on top of k8s is desired. • 3+ years experience in running operations at a large scale • Preferred experience in implementing and supporting Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), and other applicable government standards, policies, and regulations (e.g., NIST 800-137, NIST 800-53, 800-37 and 800-39). • Demonstrated experience with Kafka and Redis. • Multi-cloud experience in AWS/GCP (expertise within AWS is preferred). • Familiar with IaC and associated tools (Terraform or Pulumi). • Familiarity with CI and practical delivery using any of Travis, CircleCI, Codefresh, Spinnaker, Jenkins or buildkite. • Familiarity with deployment strategies like blue green, rolling deploys, canary deploys and best practices around deployment automation (with tools like shipit or spinnaker) is desired. • Demonstrated professional experience working in at least 1 main programming language (Python/Go/Ruby/etc). • Familiarity with SecOps and Compliance processes is desired - ensuring that security and compliance are baked into our processes from the outset. • Keeps a pulse on latest cloud technology trends and open source. Is open and willing to learn new tools - we integrate with more tools and vendors every day.
