Accountant

Job Description

• The Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Billing Team to ensure that the day-to-day operations are accomplished. The role involves vouchering City reimbursable payments, processing certain tenant charges and adjustments to the tenants’ accounts and assisting the Accounting Department with the monthly closing and various ad-hoc projects. The Accountant collaborates with other departments to ensure transactions are recorded correctly for financial reporting, audit purposes, as well as in response to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting • 2 plus years of general accounting experience • Strong quantitative and analytical skills • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Experience in MRI and Great Plains Software a plus. • New York City Residency is required within 180 days of hire.
