Manager, Production Engineering

Job Description

• Support, develop, and empower a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) • Administer Fastly’s use of public cloud and deliver a reliable compute platform based on Kubernetes • Collaborate with partner teams for a unified developer experience • Lead and mentor a team of engineers • Recruit and hire engineers • Set clear expectations for roadmaps and work • Prioritize, lead, budget, and deliver on time • Communicate effectively through roadmaps, project progress, and design documentation

Qualifications

• Shown success working with teams building platforms • A clear understanding of modern SRE principles • Experience nurturing a strong service ownership culture • Process improvement mindset • Adaptability and focus through shifting priorities • Ability to travel periodically to off-site engineering gatherings • Familiarity with public clouds, Kubernetes, coding in languages like ruby, python, or go, and project management with Jira • Experience with security and compliance teams
