Manager, Production Engineering

Job Description

• Support, develop, and empower a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) focused on platform engineering • Administer Fastly’s use of public cloud and deliver a reliable compute platform based on Kubernetes • Work closely with partner teams to provide a unified experience for Fastly developers • Lead a distributed team of engineers and collaborate with internal customers • Recruit and hire engineers • Bring a product owner attitude to set clear expectations for roadmaps and work

Qualifications

• Shown success working with teams building platforms and improving system reliability • Understanding of modern SRE principles • Experience nurturing and supporting a strong service ownership culture • Process improvement mindset and ability to adapt to shifting priorities • Ability to periodically travel to off-site engineering gatherings • Experience in public clouds, containers/Kubernetes, coding in ruby, python, or go, migrating workloads, project management with Jira, working with security and compliance teams
