Systems Test Engineer, Motion Control

Job Description

• In this role, you'll: ‣ Organize test campaigns subject to project milestones and verification cycles ‣ Write test plans and procedures, and develop scripts to automate their execution and analysis ‣ Perform objective and subjective vehicle assessment using commercially available and Waymo-developed tools and methods ‣ Translate actuator, vehicle, electrical, and control motion control architecture and actuator requirements to verification tests and execute in vehicle ‣ Analyze and visualize test results and report findings ‣ Lead issue and root cause identification efforts

Qualifications

• Understanding of systems engineering principles such as defining requirements and formal verification and validation methods • Data analysis and test scripting/automation experience particularly for vehicles or other electro-mechanical systems (C/C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink) • Test planning and experimental design, especially designing for safety and repeatability • Proactive, organized, and good collaboration skills • Bachelor and/or Master's degree in a relevant engineering or a related field (including ME, EE, CS, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace, etc.) or equivalent practical experience • Hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, or debugging air/ground/space vehicle systems or complex software systems. • Experience with Linux or Unix based systems • Data acquisition (DAQ) test equipment (Vector CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe and Etas INCA, MDA etc.) • Working knowledge of SQL, Dremel, JIRA
