Engineering Manager - Web Video Player

Job Description

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers specializing in video player development. • Foster a culture within the team that aligns with our core values. • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with a focus on performance and career development. • Oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of projects that address complex challenges in the video player domain. • Ensure best practices in software development, including coding standards, peer code reviews, and documentation • Drive continuous improvement in video player performance and reliability. • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and set priorities. • Communicate project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and other teams. • Establish a culture with regard to our core tenets of excellence in operations, engineering, and delivery. • Participate in the hiring and interviewing process and act as a spokesperson for the Crunchyroll engineering team. • Keep up to date on industry trends by researching and benchmarking new technologies against other solutions in the market.

Qualifications

• You are passionate about technology and the streaming space and have 5+ years industry experience and 2+ years of leadership experience. • You have the experience to sustain our core values of excellence in operations, delivery, and engineering. • You have been a developer, technical leader, and an architect of front end customer facing applications. • You have developed solutions used by millions of users. • You can demonstrate experience working with your product and program peers to help establish technology roadmaps. • You can demonstrate experience leading technology leaders and driving important engineering programs. • You have hands-on experience developing in multiple code stacks - mobile, web, backend, db, infrastructure.
