Cloud Engineer

Job Description

• Responsible for designing, building, and supporting company's cloud platform • Play a critical role in ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud platform • Work closely with other technology teams to ensure that the cloud platform meets business and client needs • Using automation to support and maintain all components of Schonfeld Cloud environment • Deploying and managing cloud environments via Terraform, leveraging Python to simplify and streamline deployment operations tasks • Using Go to build custom Terraform Provider(s), build custom applications, and build reusable components • Advising technology teams on ensuring performance in the cloud, leveraging cloud tooling, and meeting cost objectives • Having operational responsibilities such as implementation and optimization of server monitoring tools, maintaining visibility on capacity, security, and availability, implementing new AWS features • Designing new ways of automating core systems, documenting processes, testing new functionality • Participating in an on-call rotation every other month, handling support requests, ensuring automations deliver business value • One weekend on-call 24/7 every third month

Qualifications

• 1 years of experience with Python or Golang in the context of building cloud automation and infrastructure applications • 2 years of experience working with infrastructure as code platforms, including Terraform and CloudFormation • 1 years of experience automating workflows/use cases in the cloud (setting up infrastructure, processing data, etc) • 1 years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network-related technical issues, including on AWS Cloud and Linux • 2 years of experience using Amazon Web Services, including EC2 IAM, DynamoDB, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Kubernetes, and Lambda • 1 years of experience with HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, or VPC • 1 year of experience working within infrastructure at a hedge fund
