Vice President/Sr. Vice President, Deputy General Counsel
Job Location: San Francisco, California
Salary: $330,000 - $460,000 a year
Job Description
• Responsible for planning, implementing, directing, and administering all aspects of the human resources function for the Mid-Atlantic Region • Provide day-to-day management of the Employee Relations team
Qualifications
• Successful completion of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school • Active membership in good standing with the bar association of the state where practicing • Minimum of 20 years of legal experience, with significant in-house legal experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. Proven track record in a senior legal role, preferably within a global organization • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; articulate, direct, and forthright; ability to communicate with all levels of management and leadership; collaborative and decisive team member as well as a strategic thinker with a broad perspective • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; must be able to exercise sound judgment and provide practical, risk-informed, and constructive legal advice in a fast-paced and complex global environment • Ability to align legal strategies with business objectives, contributing to the company's growth and success, and ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal teams, external advisors, and stakeholders • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in legal research, documentation, and compliance • Agility to adapt to changing legal and regulatory landscapes while remaining current with industry trends and best practices; time management and organizational skills necessary to independently manage many matters, appropriately prioritize workload, and plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals; superior ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing legal team
