Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description

• Translate customer requirements and needs into program requirements • Manage requirements traceability and own requirements verification and validation • Lead the conceptualization, design and development of multi-mission spacecraft systems • Define mission concept of operations and manage subsystem technical budgets • Assess internal and external risks to the mission, develop mitigation plans, and communicate them effectively • Assess impacts of and coordinate changes across disciplines throughout the program lifecycle • Conduct design reviews, test readiness reviews, and flight readiness reviews • Monitor the performance of on-orbit spacecraft and data pipelines, ensuring customer requirements are met • Communicate effectively with other systems engineers, software developers, data product developers, ground segment team, and mission operations teams • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in spacecraft development and operations

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher degree in an engineering field plus 5 years of experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment • Extensive experience system modeling, systems analysis, and running simulations • Proven history of system integration and delivery of complex systems • Experience managing requirements for a multi-disciplinary project • Dedication to finding resolutions based on the most important factors and data • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines • Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, rewarding work environment
