Payroll Specialist
Job Location: Remote
Job Description
• Email Correspondence and Inbox Management: Respond to email queries promptly and efficiently Maintain the Payroll inbox, organizing and prioritizing incoming messages Responsible for a variety of payroll activities for employees and consultants working nationwide for payroll. This includes, but is not limited to: Auditing and collecting of expense reimbursements and timesheet processing for all employees and consultants, in multiple reporting systems. Understanding company policies and procedures as well as their client’s time and expense policies. Ensure timesheet and expense accuracy based on client-specific needs. Gather and verify payroll data using multiple payroll software systems. Calculate the correct amounts for overtime payments based on various state laws and requirements. Complete & maintain accurate entries for miscellaneous payroll items (late submittals, allowances, bonuses, stipends, advances). Maintain and process changes in our personnel database regarding garnishments, pay rate changes, per diem payments, bonuses, placement verifications, tax and direct deposit updates etc. Ensure that entry in multiple payroll software systems such as but not limited to new hires, terminations, compensation changes, benefit rates, etc. match within all systems. Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed. Work closely with other departments within organization to finalize payroll. Resolve discrepancies, and/or reporting discrepancies to management. Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors. Helps to ensure payroll practices meet government compliance. Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Qualifications
• Associates' Degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. • Experience in staffing in a high-volume organization a plus. • 1-3 years of experience in Payroll, or related field and at least • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. • Payroll software (Paycom, ADP, etc.) experience a plus. • Bullhorn time and expense experience a plus
